Priority Exhibition’s Joe Ashton has been nominated for an Exhibition News award. The nominees have just been announced on the Exhibition News website, and our designer Joe is in the running for Best Designer.

The prestigious awards will take place at West Hall in London on March 29, where 10 awards will be handed out to high flyers across the exhibition industry.

Since he joined Priority Exhibitons in 1996, Joe has created designs for some of the world’s biggest brands, such as Siemens, Saint Gobain, Jacuzzi, the Israeli government and DeWalt.

His career highlight so far has been his work for Israel Tourism, which has won ‘Best Stand’ award at Fitur in Madrid and at the Moscow International Travel and Tourism in March 2011.

Joe’s approach to design follows the modernist ideology that form follows function. In the case of exhibition stand design this means that a client’s lead generation efforts must be at the heart of how the stand works.

What this means is that before putting pen to paper, Joe looks at a client’s business models and objectives to ensure his design is more than just an attractive 3D structure, but help attract visitors, increase dwell time, aid data capture and ultimately increase lead generation.

Event Magazine’s Top 100 Club has just been announced, and I’m excited to be named at number 59.

To be considered, the publication took on board our contributions to the industry; our revenue; accolades won; events we’ve created exhibition stands for and client testimonials.

It was then went to the vote, with more than 4,000 people in the industry voting.

Given the tough criteria, it is most definitely an honour to be included in the list, and although it’s my name there, the whole Priority Exhibitions team should be proud as everything we do is always a group effort.

The list was unveiled at the Brand Event Awards in the Underglobe on Wednesday (30 Nov) and can be found in Event’s yearbook, The Guide.

Inside the exhibition hall Priority designed and built a cutting edge stand, while also creating augmented reality (AR) content that attracted delegates and increased dwell time.

The AR experience is an engaging and interactive way to communicate the benefits of Nederman’s complex engineering production system, which can dramatically increase the efficiency and profitability of recycling processed waste materials such as metals, alloys and composites through to gases and liquids.

Outside the exhibition hall, Priority Exhibitions undertook a PR and social media campaign to reach Nederman customers and prospects via social media, PR and other online content.

Nederman first showcased this system at Recycling & Waste Management (RWM) on 13-15 September, which is the UK’s foremost trade event for the recycling and waste industry.  It then plans to take the system to a number of additional industry exhibitions.

The system is so efficient that if a company is producing a minimum one tonne of metal swarf a week then the equipment can pay for itself in less than a year. This is achieved by reclaiming and separating the maximum level of valuable recyclable materials such as metals and composites etc, but also by removing the maximum amount of impurities, which usually contaminate processed materials.

The 18m x 15m island stand premiered at Salon International (16-18 October 2011) at Excel UK and has been created to help BaByliss Pro promote its professional range of hair care products to the hairdressing industry

The stand hosted live hair styling demonstrations by a number of the country’s top stylists including the hairdressing icon Patrick Cameron who used the latest BaByliss Pro products. In addition to the live hair demonstrations there was also be stunning catwalk shows. The catwalk is designed to mirror the famous runways of Paris, London and Milan and is complete with the latest PA sound-system and lighting.

In addition to the catwalk area, another exciting feature of the stand was a working salon designed to accommodate six stylists. The salon is fully glazed giving maximum opportunity for visitors to the stand to view the stylists as they prepare their models, prior to going on stage.

There is also a 31 metre retail sales counter where product is sold directly to visitors to the stand.

BaByliss is part of the Conair Group. The business joins a long list of well-established international businesses on Priority Exhibitions’ client roster, including Siemens, Saint Gobain, Jacuzzi, Israel and DeWalt.

When Israel Tourism needed a state of the art exhibition stand that could be transported globally to all the major international travel events, they turned to Priority Exhibitions.

The exhibition stand design for Israel Tourism recently won ‘Best Stand’ awards at Fitur in Madrid and at the Moscow International Travel and Tourism in March 2011.

The 22m X 9.75m stand design for Israel Tourism is one of the highest specification custom built stands on the market and incorporates hand craftsmanship and top of the range print production. It is also designed to separate into smaller parts, to allow each element to be transported from show to show.

The structure uses different types of materials, including 3D components which were machined specifically for this stand, along with printed voiles and shimmer curtains.

High resolution direct-to-media printing was used to graphically represent ancient stone work, floral displays and olive trees were also chosen because they were symbolic of the country.

The stand also incorporates the latest in slim-line LED light boxes which display visitor attractions and places of interest.
